Agar Told Cincinnati.com on “Crazy Times”“I didn’t write anything different on entering. David told me, ‘I want the definitive Samy Hagar registration.’ He knows how writers my age, when you’ve written 30 albums or whatever, four or five hundred songs, start asking questions – I’ve said this before. Oh, I played that. He coached me when we were talking about it: ‘I want to hear “Hampton Standing”. I want to hear VAN HALEN.’ I would just sit in the room with my guitar, turn on my iPhone and scream into it. And he gave me those kind of comments, and I got into it.
“I came in with five songs. Then I wrote a few more for him. And then we went in there and ended up with 10. Every song is a five piece. David cut every song with us on guitar. And he was so musical. He directed the arrangements. He got us in and out of there in five days for 10 songs. Most guys after five days still have drum sounds.”
