- A courtroom watched Tyga’s “Rack City” during Blac Chyna’s defamation lawsuit against the Kardashians.
- Wednesday was the first full day of Blac Chyna’s $108 defamation and interference case against the family.
- Late in the hearing, she said she felt “no ill will towards any of the ladies”.
During the first full day of Blac Chyna’s $108 million defamation and interference lawsuit against the Kardashian family, jurors watched Chyna’s appearance in rapper Tyga’s ‘Rack City’ music video as evidence of her career fledgling before she met her ex, Rob Kardashian.
The video was entered into the Los Angeles court docket by Chyna’s attorney, Lynne Ciani, as the attorney sought to show Chyna’s notoriety separately and intertwined with the Kardashian family before the lawsuit was filed in 2017.
In the video, Chyna is kidnapped by assailants and Tyga later saves her as bombs go off behind them.
Chyna, whose legal name is Angela White, is seeking $100 million in damages from the Kardashian-Jenners. She claims they unfairly insulted her at E! Network execs five years ago after she and Rob Kardashian split. The family denied the allegations in the lawsuit.
Kardashian attorney Michael Rhodes initially objected to the video being played, but compromised to allow jurors to view the video without sound. During her testimony, Chyna explained that she dated Tyga, got briefly engaged to him, and shared their son, King Cairo Stevenson. Kylie Jenner and Tyga dated for three years after he and Chyna separated.
“You got mad at Kylie when she stole your boyfriend?” Rhodes asked Chyna during her cross-examination. “No. I don’t hold any hard feelings towards any of these ladies,” Chyna replied, referring to the Kardashian-Jenner sisters and matriarch, Kris Jenner.
Khloe and Kim Kardashian attended the hearing, wearing a tan trench coat and a tan suit respectively, seated alongside Kylie, wearing a black suit, and Kris Jenner, who wore a brown suit . Occasionally, they would do each other’s hair, and Kim would pass her a notebook with a lawyer sitting behind her.
During her testimony, Chyna repeatedly referred to Kris Jenner as “Miss Kris.”
Rhodes’ cross-examination of Chyna began with less than an hour in court after he complained that Ciani “only asked leading questions” of Chyna.
Rhodes’ exchange with Chyna grew increasingly testy as he alleged several incidents of Chyna being physically abusive to Rob, which she nearly all vehemently denied, admitting to breaking a set of bread houses gingerbread after Rob stole his phone and locked himself in a closet. “I destroyed the gingerbread house,” Chyna told the court.
At the end, Rhodes questioned the couple’s split timeline, promising to start tomorrow’s session by comparing her testimony from her 2017 domestic violence restraining order against Rob Kardashian to her testimony on Wednesday.
