“I find that lately I’ve been doing a lot of really crazy random work that I haven’t been able to post about yet,” he said.

Many locals know Levac for his high quality workmanship and enthusiasm for hairdressing. His passion for coloring and styling started in high school, when he was working on a friend’s hair, which led to him representing Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School (CCVS) in a skills competition. .

During her four years working at Loft Salon in Cornwall, Levac gained more experience and became a color educator at Pulp Riot Hair. He was notably a finalist in the 2020 Behind the Chair One Shot hair competition. In the spring, Levac brought his talents to Pure Organic Spa.

Last May, Levac attended RuPaul’s DragCon in LA where he worked with Canadian drag queen Lemon on a number of looks. The beginning of Levac’s friendship with Lemon grew after he gave her a wig in a previous encounter, and Lemon has since referred her talents to other drag queens. Levac created the wig Lemon wore in a recent ad campaign for Mill Street Brewery, which supported Rainbow Railroad — a Canadian charity that helps LGBTQ+ people escape violence and persecution in their home countries.

After his trip to Los Angeles, Levac was invited to attend and work at RuPaul’s DragCon in the UK with Lemon, scheduled for January.

Working with Lemon on a number of projects led Levac to work with another Canadian drag queen, Priyanka, on her upcoming music video for the song Snatch, featuring Cheryl Hole. Levac created about eight wigs for the production in June and worked on set.

“It was crazy…you do all the hair processing, and then you watch the monitor, and in between takes I was going to brush the wigs and make sure they weren’t messy, and make sure that ‘they looked good in every take,” he said. “It was wild.

“I’m so excited (for the music video to come out). It was definitely a lot of work, but it was so magical to be behind the scenes, it was like a dream come true.

Levac explained that Priyanka also requested a custom wig to match an outfit she wore on The Pit Stop, and she wore the piece again on Bachelor In Paradise Canada.

The self-taught artist is thrilled to have recently worked on the set of a Lifetime Channel holiday movie called Record Breaking Christmas, which was filming at Carleton Place.

As for the evolution of his talents, Levac attributed much of his success to practicing and experimenting with different creative techniques. He enjoys working with natural tones, which most of his clients in the Cornwall area request, as well as bright, strong colors for more artistic projects.
