July 18, 2021 marked Anthrax40th anniversary, during which the band released 11 studio albums, received multiple Gold and Platinum certifications, received six GRAMMY nominations and a host of other media, music industry and fan accolades.

In 1991, the band helped break down racial and gender barriers when they collaborated with public enemy on the track “Bring the noise“and were the first metal band to have their music heard on Mars when NASA played”I have the timeto wake up the Mars Rover in 2012.

In the same way Metallica, killer, and Megadeth, anthrax is a cardholder member of The Big Four, the four bands that defined the speed/thrash/metal genre. Anthrax also introduced a series of now-out-of-print signature whiskeys and bourbons and partnered with Stockholm-based NEZUMI Studios for a limited-edition high-end Baleine diver’s watch.

Twenty-twenty-one also saw the release of “Z2 Comics”among the living” graphic novel with a track-by-track storyline inspired by Anthraxthe iconic 1987 album, among the living.

The book brings together a “who’s who” of names from the world of comics and music who created “bubble dialogues” and original artwork to express what the songs meant to them. Taking advantage of the COVID-19 concert tour ban, the band worked hard to write the next Anthrax album.

For Anthrax, 2022 has already started well, but their 40th anniversary is not quite in the rearview mirror of the group. Unable to kick off a planned 40th anniversary world tour due to COVID, the band will kick off their 40th anniversary world tour this year. The celebrations begin on July 26 in North America, co-starring black label societythen a flagship trek in the UK and Europe in the fall with Municipal waste.
